Youth Group 2025  (Last Update: 8/20/2025)

Staffed by a ministry team of adults,  the youth meet monthly to work on mission service projects, share in fun activities, and take seasonal trips as an expression of fellowship and faith. 

     What do we do?: Meet at the church for food, games and activities. Planning of events (including service projects for the remainder of the year.

     When: Most of our meetings will be held on Sunday afternoon, or early evenings, one Sunday per month

     Where: First Congregational Church 7 Somers Rd. East Longmeadow

The current 2025-2026  schedule is:

• September 6^th  2-4pm: Our first activity will be September 6^th, with a combination of an in-house activity in the church from 2-3pm (discussion, sign making and game planning) followed by us hosting games during the Food Truck event outside from ~ 3-4pm. We will be raising money to support the Greater Springfield Crop Walk (https://events.crophungerwalk.org/crophungerwalks/event/springfieldma) 

• October 5^th  ~ 1pm: We will participate in the crop walk fundraiser. Meet at the church and then we will drive together over to Trinity Church on Sumner Avenue. The walk goes through Forest Park.

We are shooting for the second Sunday of each month but the dates below are subject to change

• November 9?: In house games and activities (prepare for December event)
• December 14^th?: Deliver Christmas Cards and wreaths to shut-ins
• January: In house activities, sledding if available
• February 8^th: Super Bowl Sunday Grinder sale to raise money for the TJ O’Conner Animal Shelter in Springfield. The kids will arrive early Sunday morning (9:00 – 11:15??) and make grinders to sell to the members and friends at First Congregation on Sunday morning. Parents will also have the opportunity to purchase grinders for pickup.
• March: In house games:  Olympic themed
• April: Earth Day Cleanup day
• May: Hike
• June: Family Barbecue or Pot luck dinner and games.
